Its name refers to “kimolia”, the Greek word for chalk. Numerous rocks are made from this mineral and the island’s coastal landscape is amazing due to the variety of the colors as well as the many caves one can explore. Chances are that you can also see the Mediterranean monk seal “Monachus Monachus” as this rare species picked Kimolos to live there.

Chorio is the main village of Kimolos, beautiful and quite magical place to spend time in the evening or to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view with the moonlight! On the side of the port, Kalamitsi and Bonatsa are quiet and organized beaches, ideal for families. When the sun goes down, you will be amazed by the colors and the landscape at Ellinika. Prassa beach is definitely the swimming heaven of the island, which once visited you will most likely be tempted to go back!
